According to a survey by the New York Times, European companies warned that China’s push to replace imports was harmful, but American companies are more eager to cooperate with Beijing¹.

According to McKinsey, after the global financial crisis, policy makers and regulators worldwide took steps to strengthen banks against future shocks. The Tier 1 capital ratio has risen from less than 4 percent on average for US and European banks in 2007 to more than 15 percent in 2017. The Tier 1 capital ratio, a measure of financial health, is calculated by dividing a bank’s core capital by its risk-weighted assets².
